# License compliance

This note records obligations for assets redistributed with the workbench. It is not a legal opinion. The project license for `src/hdt` is still an open choice. No GPL library is linked into `src/hdt`.

## BodyParts3D — CC BY-SA 2.1 Japan

The meshes in `assets/anatomy/obj/` are redistributed. Obligations that this repository meets:

- Attribution and the license name are in `assets/anatomy/NOTICE.md`, `docs/ATTRIBUTION.md`, and the workbench page `/methods`.
- The citation (Mitsuhashi et al., Nucleic Acids Research 2009) is on that page.
- The OBJ files keep BodyParts3D identifiers. They are not rewritten by the viewer.
- Share-alike applies if those meshes are adapted. Display rotation in the viewer does not rewrite the files. A derived mesh would stay under CC BY-SA 2.1 Japan. That obligation does not relicense the solvers.
- Removing the on-screen paragraph from the viewport does not remove the notice. `/methods` is linked from the workbench footer and is served by the same process as the simulator.

## Three.js — MIT

The vendored copy under `src/hdt/workbench/static/vendor/three/` keeps its MIT license. Attribution is on `/methods` and in this file.

## Pulse — Apache-2.0

Pulse is not copied into `src/`. The local build remains under `third_party/`, which is gitignored. Using the engine requires retaining its Apache-2.0 notices with that build. This repository does not strip them.

## Python scientific stack

NumPy, SciPy, and matplotlib are BSD-licensed third-party packages installed in the virtualenv. They are not vendored into `src/`.

## What is not included

Z-Anatomy and the CC BY-NC kidney cited from it are not in the tree. Open Systems Pharmacology is GPL and is not linked.
